The Hakka Express in Gulf City Mall was part of the closed restaurants controversy few years ago when they apparently had unsanitary kitchen and utensils but they have fixed the issues fast and everything has been fine since then. Even though I prefer home cooked meals, my family sometimes eats outside. We had some delicious chili garlic noodles and refreshing beverages after our big shopping.

This was my first time eating here and didn’t see anything suspicious or wrong. The food was delicious and I was served fast.

I come to Hakka often because the food is fantastic, but the service can be a little…well, weird. The waiter often takes the order and doesn’t come back with the drinks in 10-15 minutes. And this was more than once. If you accept this curiosity as normal (some people have and I’ve been trying), the restaurant is great. Some say this is happening because Hakka is so popular and crowded.

I had a sour chicken this morning and it lacked some spices, but overall – I love their meals.

Hakka is my favorite restaurant regardles of the place and branch and I don’t know if anything will remove it from the throne ever.

Chilli noodles are a-ma-zing, so as everything else I’ve tried, The yjust need to improve overal customer service, some of the workers have attitude problems.

I love that this place works all week long and offers home cooked meals. I got used having my lunches and dinners here. I can’t even pick a favorite, I think I had all from the menu within my stay.

Spent a week In San Fernando during a yoga summit, and we dined almost every night in Hakka. Amazing food, they even had fully-raw plates. I tried a good part of their menu, and I have to say I highly recommend everything. Have to warn you if you don’t like salt, everything is bit on a saltier side.

This is a style of cooking that originates from various regions of China. In Trinidad and Tobago, the dishes are slightly altered to cater to the taste of the locals. Popular dishes such as wantons, noodles, chinese styled chicken, fried rice and chow mein are available.

Location

The San Fernando region operates as Trinidad's southern capital and second city, anchoring south Trinidad's economy with comprehensive commercial, administrative, and professional services. The region encompasses the city of San Fernando and surrounding urban communities including Marabella, serving as the south's primary business and retail centre. San Fernando provides diverse dining, premium accommodation, banking, corporate offices, and government services that support the entire southern region. The area benefits from highway infrastructure, port facilities, and connections to industrial zones that drive regional economic activity. Communities throughout the region offer retail shopping, entertainment, healthcare, and educational facilities. San Fernando continues to evolve with commercial investments and infrastructure improvements that strengthen its position as southern Trinidad's economic engine, balancing working city functions with cultural heritage and urban development.

The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago is the southernmost island in the Caribbean archipelago. Located just off the north-eastern coast of the South America mainland, the twin island Republic is home to international greats such as Miss Universe 1998, Wendy Fitzwilliam; Cricket Legend, Brian Charles Lara; and Carnival, the Greatest Show on Earth. The larger of the two islands, Trinidad, has a boot-like shape, measures 37 miles (80km) by 50 miles (60 km), and is noted for having an ecological and geographical diversity that is unmatched in the region.

The capital city, Port of Spain, is the business centre of the Caribbean, housing the headquarters for a number of local businesses, a myriad of restaurants and nightlife entertainment like no other. The sister isle of Tobago is a stark contrast to Trinidad. Considerably smaller in size, Tobago is well-known for its coral reefs, pristine blue waters and white sandy beaches, the smaller island is perfect for leisure activities and an immersive experience with nature. An abundance of natural reserves in oil and natural gas has made significant contributions to the strength of the Trinidad & Tobago economy—making it one of the strongest economies in the region.
