Tobago Heritage Festival, Scarborough, Trinidad and Tobago

The Tobago Heritage Festival is the island’s largest cultural celebration, staged every year since 1987 from mid-July into Emancipation Day. Rather than gathering in one place, it moves village by village, each community presenting its own night. The signature draw is the Ole Time Wedding in Moriah, a re-enactment of an eighteenth century wedding procession, while Golden Lane and Les Coteaux bring folk tales, and the Salaka Feast honours the ancestors with drumming and dance. Most events are low cost and run late, so check the village schedule as productions are spread across the island.
