Aranguez North Secondary School is a government-run, co-educational secondary school located on Boundary Road, Aranguez, in the San Juan-Laventille region of Trinidad. Operating under the Ministry of Education, the school offers instruction from Form 1 through to Form 5/6, with no religious affiliation making it a fully secular institution serving the local community.
The school was constructed in 2013, replacing the former Aranguez Junior Secondary School and has a student population of approximately 430. It sits within a densely populated corridor of the East-West corridor, drawing students from Aranguez and surrounding communities.
Over the years the school has faced well-documented infrastructure challenges. Issues, including poor air quality, non-functional HVAC systems, sewage problems, and inadequate classroom furniture, have been reported, prompting ongoing calls for remediation from teachers and the TTUTA. Despite these pressures, staff and community members have worked to introduce extracurricular programmes including volleyball and martial arts, with students expressing interest in expanding sports and vocational offerings.
The school continues to serve as an important educational anchor for the Aranguez community.
