Piparo Mud Volcano is only great to visit if you want to see an actual mud volcano. It was a long drive, but it was worth it. We didn’t have a guide, but we managed to discover the place just fine. Some people were soaking into the small mud pools, I couldn’t make myself to do it. It was more than enough for me to climb around and enjoy observing the place. If you are not going here with a 4×4, you will have to park a bit further from the volcanoes and walk, but it’s not too far. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you are a true adventurer.
Now jumping into volcano mud pools definitely made my vacay. My husband and I didn’t even plan to visit this place, when we somehow ended up being there with a group of other people we met at our hotel. It was a crazy thing to do, but I don’t regret it, it was liberating and fun to get dirty.
I saw a mud volcano for the first time in my life and I felt like a curious child again. This was so much more fun than the boring beach days I had. Super cool, but a bit far from my hotel.
