Clifton Hill Beach is a popular coastal destination located on the southwestern shoreline of Trinidad, within the Borough of Point Fortin. Situated along the Gulf of Paria, the beach stretches for approximately 1.1 kilometres and is easily accessible from the town centre, just about 1.5 kilometres away.

The beach takes its name from the historic Clifton Hill Estate, one of three cocoa and coconut plantations, alongside La Fortunée and Adventure, that defined Point Fortin before the arrival of the petroleum industry in 1907. Clifton Hill is the only community in the area to have retained its original estate name, a quiet reminder of the borough’s agricultural roots.

Today, Clifton Hill Beach is a favourite weekend and holiday gathering spot for locals and visitors alike. The shoreline features a gently sloping gradient into the calm, warm waters of the Gulf, making it suitable for wading and swimming. The adjacent Clifton Hill Beach Resort offers amenities including a restaurant, bar, changing facilities, and event spaces. From the beach, the industrial flares of nearby energy facilities are visible along the coastline,  a striking visual contrast between the area’s natural beauty and its role as one of Trinidad’s key energy-producing zones.

The beach area also borders mangroves and a river mouth that supports local wildlife, offering opportunities for nature observation and photography. Nearby, visitors can explore the wider Point Fortin community, including cultural landmarks tied to the borough’s oil heritage and its celebrated annual Borough Day festivities.
