The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago is the southernmost island in the Caribbean archipelago. Considerably smaller in size, Tobago is well-known for its coral reefs, pristine blue waters and white sandy beaches,the smaller island is perfect for leisure activities and an immersive experience with nature. An abundance of natural reserves in oil and natural gas has made significant contributions to the strength of the Trinidad & Tobago economy—making it one of the strongest economies in the region.

The entire island’s culture from dances, clothes, pottery, food… You can see it all here. We loved it.
Our hotel host invited us to go to the Tobago Heritage Parlour. This house is owned by an old man who turned his home into a museum where you can see the way people used to dress, what sort of things they used in every day life and since there are always people, the visit usually turns into a singing and dancing fiesta.
Made into museum, this is actually the house of an old man who wanted to show many artefacts his family owned. Some of the artefact date back to the times of slavery. Interesting visit!
On our way to Fort King George, my wife and I stopped for a short visit to the Heritage Parlor. Ir’s easy to find, just ask any of the locals. We met owner of the house – Uncle George – and he told us about his family150 years back to the times of slavery. We had to continue our trip and left before we’ve seen everything, but we’re in Tobago this year again, so we’re visiting one more time, this time in detail.
Such a cool place, it is sort of a museum but so much less strict. I liked that the owner was first a collector and then decided to show all of the things to tourists. You can learns so much about their culture by visiting this place.
